Kitchen Re-Fresh

This post is so long overdo as I gave my little kitchen a re-fresh on a dime. The only time I had to take pics was at night when everyone was gone to soccer lol.No money was spent on this project as I had everything already on hand. I just repainted the cabinets and I covered the back splash in bead board that I had from another job.I printed off some cute quotes from Pinterest and framed them in some black dollar store frames that I had in my craft stash. They just inspire all of us.The hardware was painted hammered black I think it goes better with everything.Of course the counter tops were just some sponge painting

A Little painted Table

As the weathers been unseasonably warm up here,I did a little project so as to get outside and enjoy the sun. Its really a before and after that I found awhile ago and had stashed in the garage until I decided to give it a new life in my house.Enjoy the photos.

Double Take

Today was a wonderfully warm day here in Upstate N.Y. so I decided to get out of the house and grab up some of that fresh air.As luck would have it I ended up at my local Salvation Army just intending to browse (lol) when I saw these two lamps. They had the most Gigantic torn stained old lampshades on them and when I removed them there were cobwebs to boot! They didn’t charge me extra for those thankfully:)
The shape on these lamps is just lovely! They really are all dirty and in need of some serious TLC and PAINT!!

As I was leaving the store with my $4.99 lamps I couldn’t help but notice this lonely little chair $1.99,how could I just pass that up right?

Well there you have it,so stay tuned to see my fabulous nasty old lamps make-over!

Sammy’s Bedside Table

As I am busy up to my elbows with my kitchen Re-fresh,I took a little break to do this bedside table for my 8 year old son’s room.I got it at my usual place YES the Salvation Army  for $1.99!!! It was absolutely AWFUL,but I had a vision!I knew the perfect spot for this little guy so I got to work priming painting and a little Modge Podge some tacks and were good to go.My boy is so very happy with his table, makes it all worthwhile:)Hard to believe its the same table dont you think?

"Sneak Peek"

Good morning! Well Ive been working alot lately on my ugly 70’s kitchen trying hard to transform it into something warm and welcoming and kinda current. The catch here is….I have next to no money to accomplish this project:) Its sort of like kitchen nightmare on a dime.so far I have used alot of paint and primer that I already had and I repainted the cabinet hardware to a nice hammered black.Still much more to go so I must get going and get Very creative, stay tuned but for now here’s a peek…….

White Re-Fresh

Today I thought I’d start with the finished project first, these are the two Very solid detailed candle blocks I found at my Salvation Army for 99cents.They were quite heavy and quite ugly:)I got home and went to work making them into a pair of Shabby Chic Chippy candle holders that I’d be proud to display in my home.First I painted them Turquoise then in the grooves I gave them a little fern green, and lastly a rough coating of white. When all were dry I laid into them with some rough sand paper until I achieved the look I was after.Well, what do you think? I Love them:)
